Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, I have always been amazed by the rich and diverse culture of Seattle and my favorite thing is seeing the breathtaking views of Mount Rainier on a clear, sunny day.
I am an incoming junior at Garfield High School and some of my favorite classes that I took this year was macroeconomics, math, and history. Some of my hobbies include painting, playing lacrosse, baking and learning new languages. In my free time, I love to hang out with my friends or just paint and listen to music. I think it is really important to know when to take a break and de-stress yourself, so I do it pretty often. Currently, I am learning Japanese at Garfield and I just finished my Mandarin Chinese course through another language program this past year. I believe languages are critical because it allows me to communicate with a wider range of people and be able to build better relationships with people at a more intimate level. At my school, I am involved in various clubs such as Key Club, Project Pengyou, and National Honors Society. I believe clubs are really important throughout my highschool career because it allows me to better express myself along with meeting new people with similar interests and goals. I also really enjoy volunteering in my free time and serving my community because giving back is always important. Every Saturday, I volunteer at my church for a youth program and I also volunteer at their summer camp for a week every year. Through Key Club and National Honors Society, I am also able to have access to volunteering opportunities and help around my community. I am beyond excited to be a part of the IMBY internship and I can’t wait to learn new things, get more involved in my community, and become a better leader!
